Where To Get A Last Minute Blow Dry Right Before London Fashion Week

February 15, 2017

A blow dry are one of those little luxuries in life that needn’t last all day or be a hassle to squeeze in. For me, a hair wash and blow dry is right up there with massages, retail therapy and dining out. I love them and how indulgent they are. Living in London, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to blow dry’s but they’re not always as good as you’d expect. Despite their W1 postcode. However, Duck & Dry is killing it with their menu of blow dry styles and up do’s.

In addition to the King’s Road Duck & Dry, there’s now a new salon in Oxford Circus. It’s the perfect location – right near Topshop and super easy to get to. For a pre dinner blow dry, an up do during your lunch break or a weekend date with a gal pal, it’s worth a try.

The Original

For those who know the original flag ship salon, you’ll recall it’s buzz, playful energy and their complimentary Prosecco. Well, their new store has all of that, plus space for a DJ! It’s bright, vibrant and clean.

The modern aesthetic is a completely glossy, chic and screams high fashion. There’s a pod per customer and even a stunning little flower area with a cute little swing. Great for sipping bubbles.

Choosing a style is easy. There’s a menu to choose from with pictures to give you an idea of what your final style will look like. What’s great is that whatever your hair type or length, they just charge one price. The only difference is if you have extensions; it’s an extra £10. Not bad, hey?

An express blow dry starts from £28 with Duck & Dry signature’s at £32. Add a trim in with the blow out for just £65 or try one of their famous up do’s for £45.

I went for the British waves. Big volume with loosely tousled ends. As my hair gets longer, I love this style as it’s easier to get a fuller, rich looking hair without carrying too much weight on the ends so it means I get to use less product. My stylist was super attentive from the moment I entered the salon to the moment I left. I only had to explain briefly how big and frizzy my hair normally is and straight away he knew what products to use to give me a long lasting root lift and waves. I normally try to make my blow dry last for two days and I was thrilled at how easy it was to maintain this look right up to before my next wash. Duck & Dry, you have me hooked!

What will you be doing to get Fashion Week ready? Xx
