Light, Bright & Great For Layering
This Year
First of all, I’ve pretty much stuck to my New Year’s Fashion Resolutions of wearing more colour, infusing more ‘fast fashion’ pieces into my wardrobe and discreetly trying to ‘nail my style’.
Essentially my closet was in critical need of removing all that was black and needed to become more enticing each morning. No one loves that hump day morning outfit dread.
Enhancing
In a bid to strengthen last year’s Spring wardrobe, I’ve already invested in one or two wardrobe staples. Unequivocally my favourite right now has to be this gorgeous faux suede jacket from Zara. It comes in three colours; this stunning beige, khaki and mid-pink. It’s less peacock ‘look at me’ and more ‘this is my untroubled sophisticated self’.
Whether you’re choosing real suede or faux, it’s a fabulous fabric that can be lightweight enough for the warmer weather and equally versatile enough to layer up or pair back with a simple dress. Given it’s brighter shade it’s also a nod to the summer season waving farewell to dark heavy Winter coats.
What To Consider This Spring
Think about luxe colours.
Colour blocking is one of my favourite trends and always looks super chic when the weather gets a little brighter. See what Mango have online right now.
What’s trending on the streets?
Street style has always been there but only in the last few years has it become the sensation that it now is.
How can investment pieces can be layered come Autumn/Winter?
Get that return on your investment and wear multiple ways.
Choose shoes that will really work for you.
A good pair of heels, three good flats and a cute pair of ankle boots are on my lust list.
Go for textures.
From sparkles to woven knots, knits to denim and leather. Topshop are killing it right now.
