New Trend: Embroidered Jacket

& Why I’m Loving This Trend Right Now

My Current Wardrobe

Fans of the blog and followers of my Instagram will know that my wardrobe is really rather basic. I’m talking mostly monochrome building blocks like crisp white shirts, powder blue dresses, black cigarette pants and the occasional breton stripe.
But one trend you’ll very rarely see me trying out is embroidery. Yup, I own just one embroidered peasant blouse. I don’t own any of those gorgeous embroidered velvet ankle boots that were everywhere this Winter, nor do I own any pretty embroidered clutches. In fact, I’m actually quite surprised that I didn’t even invest in any embroidered denim jeans this season.

New Years Resolution

However, true to my 2017 New Year Fashion Resolutions, it was time I started investing more in trends. Now whilst I adore but sadly cannot afford this amazing embroidered dress by Stella McCartney right now (despite it being 40% off), I decided to be sensible and take the plunge by investing in this gorgeous floral embroidered jacket from River Island instead.
For me, embroidery is super easy to wear. Just pair it back with some plain wardrobe staples like a classic pair of jeans and instantly it’s got all of the attention. From bags, to mini skirts to boho inspired jackets it’s a trend that will always come around again.
Additionally, it was even a trend that got Anna Wintour wearing black . Something we never see! She wore the stunning Stella McCartney embroidered coat to her AW16 show in Paris.

    1. Thanks Meredith, I love this jacket! It’s surprisingly quite warm too (although I’m wearing so many layers in these pics).
