My Style
Although a few colourful dresses have slowly crept into my wardrobe of late (as you’ll have seen on my IG) denim, white and camel pieces are still firm fixtures in my day to day wear. The tones are even filtering through into my accessories too, replacing the black, navy and other dark and moody, winter shades. There really is something to be said about the ease of wearing this new uniform. Waking up and not having to worry about what-goes-with-what frees up so much time and head space leaving me to focus on other things like, what colour lipstick to wear?
Minimal Nude:
For me, a nude or neutral Summer hue requires minimal styling. Unless you’re wearing Winter Whites, don’t over accessorise, don’t wear too many layers and instead, show some skin. There are some incredible streamlined and minimalist shapes around now for a modern and fresh style take.
Whatever colour you are and no matter what your budget, a neutral tone (if worn well) can look luxe, chic and bang on trend.
Neutral Summer Styling
ONE
To avoid looking fussy (and in the interest of keeping cool) try a simple one-piece dress rather than separates. This Whistles linen shirt dress (£139) looks great tied at the front, side or back and laid back with some flats or heeled mules. I love the super feminine cut too.
TWO
Invest in your new season favourite bag. I love the versatility of the Kurt Geiger leather Kensington bag in salmon, I can wear it as a clutch, a cross body or just carry it long. It’s roomy and great quality too.
THREE
Finally a good neutral slide like these Zara braided ones (£29.99) can take you through the entire season. Totally understated, it isn’t obvious that you’re always wearing them and they go with pretty much everything.
How do you style the trend of the season?
