I admit, I am totally obsessed with skin. Although I haven’t quite braved the Botox needle, I’m open and willing to try anything. Skincare is important to me and is always given a little helping hand with a few electrical items. Even my hair relies on the best tools to curl, wave, flick, straighten or tie up. So here’s what’s on my electrical shelf right now, each guaranteed to make your life that little bit easier.
hiMirror mini premium.
Literally this is a magic mirror. Aside from acting as a pretty normal mirror, the HiMirror Mini is completely interactive and doubles as a screen for YouTube, Alexa, Spotify etc. It uses A.I technology to scan your face and analyse areas to calculate % of pores, dark circles and much more. Using data collated from all mirrors, it then goes on to recommend specific products that would be great for helping your problem areas. You can also input your own products so you can see what’s working and what needs to be changed. It also comes with different lighting features so you can do your makeup accordingly (restaurant, night out etc). Probably the best £200 and something you’ll ever spend!
pmd personal microderm pro.
If you saw my beauty haul video on YouTube then you’ll remember my excitement over this product. The PMD (£150) is so effective, it really gets to work on exfoliating the skin on a deep level. It’s an at home microdermabrasion wand that comes with multiple ends depending on the intensity of dermabrasion that you want. It is SO good for my skin especially where there are areas of slight acne scaring and congestion. I cannot recommend this product enough, my skin is noticeably different since using it!
foreo luna smart facial cleansing brush.
You may have heard lots of your favourite beauty bloggers banging on about Foreo. Pretty new and trending, the Luna brush (£79) can be connected to an app for a complete 2 in 1 experience. The app analyses the face and and the facial cleansing device gives it a good clean. The bristles are made of silicone which deliver high frequency T-Sonic pulsations to gently dislodge dirt, makeup and grime. A two-zone cleansing surface makes it perfect for all skin types; use the finer touch-points for larger areas like the cheeks and forehead, and the thicker touch points for oil-prone areas like the T-zone and chin.
cleansing by clinique sonic set.
My husband bought me the sonic brush (£85) around 2 years ago and I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I use it frequently. Easy to charge, the battery lasts a while so it’s easy to take away on the weekend. The bristles aren’t too abrasive and leave your skin super clean.
philips satinelle essential compact epilator.
Ouch! Ok, if you can tolerate using an epilator (I can but only in some areas) then this is a wonderful updated version (£70) of the beauty classic. It has a gentle tweezing action that comes in two speeds. It can reach hairs that are even 0.5mm long without pulling the skin. If that’s not enough, it also comes with a trimmer and a shaving head.
ghd air™ diffuser.
If you have curly hair like me, blow drying without a brush can leave it dry and frizzy. Embracing curls has never been easier with this GHD hair dryer attachment (£15). Diffusers are so quick and easy to use, they make blow drying a doddle. I got in to such a habit of drying, straightening and then curling my hair but there’s no need with this.
blinc heated lash curler.
Heated curled lashes last longer than those that have been created with pressure and clamping. Blinc have created this great lash curler (£20) hat is kind to eyes, small, safe and delivers results. It’s super quick to use and reaches even those really tiny lashes you never knew you had!
babyliss curl secret.
I first tried this type of hair curler in a Clapham salon around 5 years ago and was so impressed at the lack of effort you need to put in when using. This updated version (£120) is great for people who just cannot curl their hair with tongs or straighteners. Hair is automatically drawn gently into the ceramic curl chamber where it is softly held and gently heated from all directions to form the perfect curl. They really last too!
babyliss boutique salon deep waves waver.
When I uploaded a video of me using this type of tool on Instagram, it got over 10,100 views! The loose ‘crimp’ design gives you totally Kardashian inspired waves – that last. It’s really easy to use as you can see from the video and the Babyliss salon deep waves waver (£50) is a wonderful updated version.
micro pedi portable pedicure.
If like me you invest heavily in sling back heels or sandals (even at the wrong time of the year), then you’ll want great looking feet all round. So often we forget our feet but there’s something so luxurious about a salon pedicure. For those who rather get their feet out in the privacy of their own home (or just want to maintain that salon fresh pedi), these are great. Oh, and it’s half price now too! It’s an electronic buffer and file that gets to work on hard skin leaving feet silky smooth.
