Where I Find Great Looking
Autumnal Colour Pieces
As I drove back from my daughter’s childminders the other day (probably still with the Peppa Pig album playing) I couldn’t help but slow down and admire the trees. In North London we are blessed with some beautiful streets with gorgeous, huge trees lining the pavements. Watching them change colour over the last few weeks has filled me with so much joy. Autumn really is my favourite season. So as I slowed to watch the leaves blowing off the tree and onto the ground, I felt inspired to dress for my mood. Cue coffee, tobacco and toffee tones.
It can be very easy to get these hues wrong. Some colours and fabrics just don’t look right and can come across as looking quite cheap.
At the same time however, the way the economy is at the moment, I don’t know many people who are going out and spending thousands on their A/W wardrobe. So we’re becoming more savvy shoppers and buying only what we truly love.
So this year I’ve definitely fine tuned my shopping and I’m more experienced in knowing where to shop the best pieces and where to go for those great discounts. It’s fair to say that in the last few weeks I’ve been finding it a lot easier to scout out the bits I love, bits that I know will look well put together so I wanted to dedicate today’s post to those perfect pieces that are luxe looking – without the hefty price tag. Check out my edit below. Hope you enjoy!

Styling Toffee Tones
Styling toffee tones can be tricky so I like to pair mine with complimenting colours like blush pink and olive green, sometimes even orange and dark purples. For a fail safe modern AW look though, here I’ve gone for a blank canvas with the white dress and shoes and paired with this nude Valentino by Mario Valentino Divina foldover tassel bag. I think there’s something more sophisticated with a classic colour palette but at the same time, it’s fun to play with colour! There are so many amazing oversized knits, leather trousers and trenches in beautiful toffee tones around right now and I always think that gold accessories really elevate the outfit to make it look more luxe.
When it comes to shopping for luxe looking pieces at affordable prices, I have a mixture of shops that I like to browse. Discounted designer sites like Shoeaholics, Trouva, The Outnet and even ‘sale’ sections of MatchesFashion, Net-A-Porter, Luisa Viaroma and Farfetch can bring up some timeless treasures. The high street shouldn’t be neglected though because there are so many luxe looking pieces from brands like Weekday (part of the H&M group), Mango and Zara. Check out my edit of my favourite luxe-for-less toffee tones for this season.
