I’m really starting to miss those long romantic walks around makeup counters. I never really knew how much I loved testing out new colours and trying new product testers until the freedom to do so was taken away. I won’t be taking that for granted when we’re allowed back out to browse!
During quarantine I’ve been really picky with the beauty products that I order online. I don’t want to waste money on products that come and are either completely the wrong colour or not what I expected. So for the first time ever I’ve been paying lots of attention to reviews and recommendations. I’m asking my friends and family more about what they’re using too.
The Ordinary Primer
That’s how I came to try The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer. It costs just £3.90! My sister raved about it so I immediately ordered it and it came pretty quickly. She’s right, it’s definitely one of the best primers I’ve ever tried and I can’t believe it cost less than £4. It works as a pore minimiser and helps your foundation stay in place longer. I can honestly say it really works. I have combination skin so was a little worried about how this would look on my oily areas but it’s mattifying, helping with that airbrush finished look. It makes my dry areas look really hydrated. An all round amazing product.
Omorovicza Silver Skin Saviour
During one of my chats with the incredible Omorovicza brand, I was recommended the Silver Skin Saviour treatment for problem areas. It’s a powerful mask that harnesses the benefits of colloidal silver and niacinamide.
From my work as a skincare ambassador for two other skincare brands, I knew that niacinamide is a vitamin B3, your best friend if you have problems with enlarged pores, an uneven skin tone or fine lines. I learned from Omorovicza that Colloidal silver has long been known for its anti-bacterial and curative properties. Combined with niacinamide, it provides a potent blend that combats blemishes and breakouts. Salicylic and glycolic acids help unclog pores to reveal clearer, smoother, healthier skin. I can honestly say that my ‘problem areas’ are looking great right now, thanks to this product!
Sleek Lifeproof Concealer
The only negative thing I have to say about the Sleek Lifeproof Concealer is that I ordered a colour far too pale for my skin (Vanilla Shot). However this was entirely my fault as I didn’t check the other colours properly and should have gotten the ‘cafe au lait’ shade. This is another absolute WOW product. I can’t believe it’s only £6.99 too! It gives one of the most full, natural-looking coverages I’ve ever experienced – it really is ‘life proof’!
Kent ‘Gift Set 30’ Makeup Brushes
I cannot begin to tell you how amazing these brushes are. Kent are the champions of hair brushes and their makeup brushes are no exception. The brushes are made from both natural and synthetic hair. They’re great for wet and powder make-up products. In this set for just £20 is a foundation brush (TWMU8), an eye groomer brush (TWMU2), TWMU3 angled eye contour brush, a lip brush (which I also use as a concealer brush) and a blusher brush. This compact make-up brush set is part of the famous “Twelve” range by Kent.
Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Roller Ball
I’ve popped this back into my beauty bag since quarantine began. Although it’s for congested or fuzzy-headed days, I find that it helps calm me down if I’m feeling a little stressed. It’s a natural blend of fine essential oils of Pine, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus work to ease breathing and refresh the senses. I love the size and ease of use (just roll onto pressure points). It’s in the sale too!
