If my late Nan were alive today and could tell you one thing you need to know about me, the one thing that DEFINES my personality… it’s that I love to be around people. It’s exactly how she was too. She was vivacious, generous and loved to throw a good party. So she didn’t bat an eyelid when from about 14 years old I made a bar in my bedroom. Back then it was only some shelves filled with spirits, bar accessories, lighters and cocktail shakers that I’d collected and cherished but as I got older, pre-drinks would always be at ours and this stuff held great value.
Through Uni and my early days in London, friends would always come to ours to get ready and catch up. I love nothing more than having people over and making sure they’re having a good time and that’s no different today.
Now that isn’t to say that I just love to drink. Quite the opposite. I just really enjoy hosting and seeing the people I love come together. So for my birthday this Summer I wanted to forget a crappy few months and throw a house party that was pink, full of food, friends and family and of course… one that had decent drinks.
The Cocktail Lab Pop-Up Bar & Mixologists
I found The Cocktail Lab online. Admittedly, I’d left it pretty late in the day but with a fridge full of food, a playlist ready to go on Spotify and ladies in waiting, I got to work and emailed them. They had some amazing Google reviews and looked as though they had everything I was after; a great reputation, an amazing selection of drinks and a set up that meant I could get on with having fun with my guests knowing that drinks were in full flow.

The important stuff...
We had two wonderful mixologists come for 3-4 hours, serving a variety of cocktails and mocktails from a pre-selected drinks list. I was able to choose my own cocktails to serve on the night and went for all my favourites:
- Pina Colada
- Cosmopolitan
- Lavender Iced Tea
- Porn Star Martini
- Margarita
Paolo and Marco, our two expert mixologists for the evening, were undoubtably the perfect fit for our house party. Patient, funny and confident, they didn’t have to think twice if anyone wanted something substituted or tweaked. They brought everything we needed; glassware, premium alcohol and a positive party attitude!
They cleared up and packed away discretely while engaging in some party fun and quite honestly, they made the party.
