(Part 2)
If you read my last post about Joules and their stunning new footwear (see here) you’ll know that this year they’re really killing it in the style arena.
As I said before, you’d be mistaken in thinking that Joules was the reserve of the country living, welly wearing customer because right now they have so much more to offer. In addition to their gorgeous baby wear (watch out for a post coming soon to LittleInTheCity.com), they also have a wonderful variety of homeware and gifts. The menswear is really fab for guys of all ages too but the womenswear and accessories is really where it’s at for me.
City Chic Casuals
From gorgeous denim dresses (like this Taylor Dark Denim dress) to oversized summer hats (like this Mandy hat), Joules is a place I love to browse for my city weekend essentials. Not to mention stocking up on versatile pieces for trips to Cornwall and the Cotswolds. Mix and match basic staples or enhance a day to casual night time look with their gorgeous slides.
In the city, layers are really important. In London it’s often warm one minute then you’re reaching for your coat and brolly the next. So I like to wear a vest under most tops and then layer it with something like this beautiful Kia funnel neck jumper from Joules. It comes in cream or silver so the neutral colours work great in any wardrobe.
Carrying City Essentials
Life in a busy city like London also requires a cool bag to hold all of your essentials. For me, I’m never without my phone, camera, purse, makeup and keys. In fact, I’ve gotten into the habit of also carrying around a laptop, external hard drive and notebook! Then you have to think about staying hydrated, carrying snacks and of course you need some room to carry any new purchases you’ve made during the day.
For this purpose I love the Revery Bright reversible shoulder bag from Joules. This one pictured is old season but thankfully ready in time for A/W they’ve brought out a few new colours. Like this french navy colour (£59.95) which when popped inside out becomes brown. I love reversible bags, it’s like having two bags for the price of one! They are amazing in quality and people always ask where I got mine from. It’s deceptively big inside too, like a Mary Poppins bag!
Walking In The City
Another style tip for the city, is wear comfortable shoes! These days comfortable and casual doesn’t have to mean boring and doudy. At Joules, as well as all of the lovely shoes I talked about in my last post, they also stock Natural World pumps. Available in six colours, these pale green are my favourite. They lace at the front and have are made from super breathable canvas so despite all that city walking, your feet stay nice and aired.
Natural World trainers are ethically made using 100% natural materials and are vegan-friendly too. Each of the shoes are crafted by hand so any imperfections will only add to the character, charm and authenticity of your Natural World product.
Shoes have really evolved at Joules and have quickly become one of my main reasons for visiting the store and their website. In addition to the lace ups and slides, their new A/W footwear is absolutely worth a look. Take a look at these Clarendon leather Chelsea boots (£150) for instance. I for one absolutely want them in black and brown (*adds to shopping list).

You’re looking amazing Lauren! I don’t tend to shop at Joules very often, but I find their clothes to be good quality, which is always important x
