Rue De Verneui
Those who know me or have followed for a while will know that while I’m partial to a cute dress, sartorial style with a masculine edge is where I’m most comfortable. I love culottes, blazers, men’s sunglasses and men’s watches, oh and not forgetting sharp tailoring. My passion for masculine rigour is actually what led me to discover Rue De Verneuil, a brand created by Vincent Ribat who incidentally has a background in interior architecture. The bags and accessories line champion nonconformist elegance coming straight from references in fashion and architecture. It offers gorgeous, vibrantly coloured bags and clutches, a perfect blend of sophistication and playfulness. It also draws its codes from the famous American “tool” bag, the useful bag that appeared in the 50’s.
When I saw this canvas tote, free from any frills and glitz, I could almost instantly think of about 10 outfits already in my wardrobe that I could wear it with. It’s versatile (although a little on the small side) and looks great not only with dresses but equally with jeans and a t-shirt. It’s a great investment piece for Summer (they’re around £200) with quality so brilliant that I know it’s going to last me for the next few years.
How I Styled
Here I’ve styled mine with this beautiful Bardot midi dress from Topshop. I have it in the ivory (pictured) and sand, the sand being a size bigger and more comfortable if I’m honest. It ties around the waist to enhance the waist and can be worn as I’\m wearing of further off the shoulder for a bigger puff sleeved effect. I kept my hair low and easy and teamed with these statement earrings from ASOS.
