Taking The Rose Gold Nike Cortez Sneakers To The Country

My Weekend In Sneakers

I have a sneaker head for a fiancé and so he’ll sometimes spoil me with a cool pair of trainers. When we’re out shopping he’ll pick out slick new high tops for me to try. He’ll point out a few original pairs on other people and when it comes to gift giving, I trust his eye for high energy shoes that I’ll wear over and over. So when he got me the Rose Gold Nike Cortez, I wore them around London for meetings and shopping. They were rarely off my feet.

The New Forest

So this weekend I’m at New Forest.
For those who have never been (it’s actually my first time), it’s a stunning little place near Southampton full of natural wildlife and trees. It’s an awesome and much needed escape from the daily grind and you can get here in less than two hours from London. There are lots of trails and walks and if you’re feeling adventurous, bring a BBQ and some food.
It’s not really like where I’m from in Wales – it’s more flat and a lot more people here with the same intention. That’d be walking, resting and chatting. In some parts, it is kind of like the battle of the new 4×4 cars.

What To Wear

The New Forest is chilled, a little more country than I’m used to and totally, totally time out. While I normally reserve my beloved Cortez for London, I wanted to take them with for the short bits of walking that we’d be doing. Well, when I didn’t have my wellies on anyway.
Given how relaxed it is here, for today’s exploring and tea room finding adventures, I chose a pair of skinny jeans (similar here) and simple grey tee.
Rather than going for my usual leather jacket, I styled it with this gorgeous new oversized denim jacket. It’s a steal at just £34.99. I love the jacket because it can be worn sleeves down or rolled back for a more informal look. Like with most of my jackets, I love the collar pulled up.
I’ve seen so many bloggers this season buying this jacket. Customising it, mixing it up with brooches and iron on patches (or taking the scissors to it). So I know I’m not alone with my new love affair.

Have you been to New Forest? What do you wear on a weekend away? Xx
