Best Vinyl Additions For Your Autumn Wardrobe

Where To Shop The Latest

Vinyl Statement Pieces

Having just filled another vacuum storage bag with my Summer dresses and the clothes that no longer fit my baby bump, I’m definitely starting to feel more ready for Autumn/Winter now. Farewell Summer dresses and hello longer sleeves and layers.

With a clearer wardrobe comes space for a more concentrated and well thought out new season wardrobe. Sure I’ve gotten back out some of my old favourites from years gone by (investment coats, shoes, knits etc.) but I’ve also allowed myself the room for a handful of new additions.

There are so many more wearable trends around this year and the high street have done a fantastic job of interpreting catwalk inspiration and turning it in to real-life ready to wear pieces.

One trend that I’m enjoying a lot right now is vinyl. I have to be honest, it’s not a trend I’ve paid particular attention to before. I used to think it was only really for the reserve of those who love thigh high boots and mini skirts (you know, like in the movies?). However, it’s a trend that’s having a real moment. Styling The Vinyl Trend

Vinyl is surprisingly versatile. Wear as a statement piece or mix and match your fabrics for a real high fashion look. Fashion week gave us visions of mixed prints and silk with vinyl and now it seems that even the high street stores are mixing it up a little and encouraging us to shop knitwear to match vinyl midi skirts. For me, I love a plain tee or sweater and I prefer my vinyl jackets with comfy loafers (or as I’ve done here with a simple pair of leggings and my backless Gucci mules). I chose my Moschino bum bag as I prefer the more casual style and love the metal against the shine of the vinyl.

Some of my favourite vinyl pieces this season include oversized trench coats (great for covering my baby bump), this gorgeous vinyl shacked from ASOS and vinyl skirts. Skirts are easy to style, just go for an oversized button down V cardigan (H&M and Mango have some great ones) or try a long sleeve jersey top and blazer. Vinyl looks amazing with some killer heels too! Check out my edit of the best vinyl buys in stores and online at the bottom of this post.
