Autumn Hair: Part 2 October’s Refresh At Michael Van Clarke, Marylebone

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”A REFRESH TO SEE ME THROUGH TO CHRISTMAS” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:14|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:300%20light%20regular%3A300%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]With my hair feeling a little flat a little while after my new colour, I was offered a complimentary cut and colour refresh at the one and only, Michael Van Clarke. The salon is based in Marylebone, London. I’ve been a few times already and it’s always a treat I look forward to. For those who haven’t had the opportunity to visit, let me tell you, it’s an absolute must! Hands down, one of the best hair salons I’ve ever been to in my 11 years here in London.

Michael Van Clarke

From the moment you step through the door the whole scene is relaxing. It’s not as noisy as some salons (somehow) and the decor is beautiful. The staff are amazing and everything is geared around making you feel your best.
Within the salon only Michael Van Clarke products are used (and sold). You’ll probably remember from my last post just how much I love the 3″ More Inches range? It’s designed by MVC himself and geared around the elimination of silicone inside haircare products. I’m such a fan of the pre-wash conditioner (you can even sleep in it for full effect) and the scalp treatment. So to learn of their latest offering, the Exfoliating Scalp Shampoo, was an absolute delight.

My Refresh

During my time here, I began with a long chat about the health of my hair. I was all set to go super light but after a brilliant consultation with Senior Hair Colourist, Rocky, we agreed that as my hair was looking pretty damaged, it would be best to tone down the brass, add some connecting balayage pieces so my regrowth didn’t look so big, and also to tint my roots for a nice, warm, Winter dark effect.
My cut came last, true to Michael Van Clarke’s Diamond Cut process. My hair was dried and cut by Senior Stylist, Claire. She knew exactly what I was going for in terms of a fresh, modern style with a flattering length. I don’t think I’ve ever been so confident to say ‘2 inches off please’ when my hair is already shoulder length but I knew I was in amazing hands here.

Michael Van Clarke Products

The Michael Van Clarke haircare range is one to try if you haven’t already. I’d put it in the ‘luxury haircare’ stable but also the ‘hero investment haircare’ farm because the products really are so worth the money. When I look back over some of my fashion style photos I can really tell by looking at my hair when I have and have not been using them. That’s really saying something (for me!).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
