How To Recreate Gisele’s Met Gala Makeup With Marc Jacobs

& How To Recreate The Look

With just under a fortnight to go until my wedding, naturally I turned to the Met Gala for makeup inspiration. Although the theme is dramatic and often extreme, there are always some well made up, natural looking faces to enhance an outfit. For a wedding, I’ve surpassed my desire for thick red lips and Bambi lashes with feline flicks and am back to beautiful looking natural ways to enhance what I already have. The winner at the Met Gala? Gisele.

She turned to Marc Jacobs Artistry Ambassador, Hung Vanngo for her classic and sophisticated makeup look. Here’s what he used and how you too can recreate the look.

The Base

To begin, Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer  was applied to Gisele’s face to create a smooth, flawless canvas. Then Hung used a sheer application of the popular Genius Gel Supercharged Foundation in colour Deep Beige over the entire face, covering any concern areas with Re(Marc)able Full Coverage Concealer in colour Glow.

Radiance

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this super popular product for a long time so I can’t wait until it arrives. It’s the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter. Gisele wore this on her cheekbones for added radiance. A little Perfection Powder Featherweight Finish was used all over the face to set the complexion.

Colour & Warmth

To enhance Gisele’s natural blushed cheeks and create a little tan, next up the Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in colour Kink & Kisses was used. This gives Gisele a soft pink and when followed by the O!mega Bronzer, the look is turned into a more fully rounded, tanned look.

Eyes

For an exaggerated flick, Hung first used the Matte Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in colour (Iron)y along the top and bottom lash line. He drew the shape out past the outer corner of the eye then smudged it back. Next on the bottom Hung used the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in colour Ro(cocoa) to define the eyes in a softer way. He then blended the grey shade from the Style Eye-Con No. 7 Plush Eyeshadow Palette (The Enigma 216) into the smudged grey liner to add intensity and then blended out with taupe shade from the same eyeshadow palette.
For mascara, Hung used the Noir Major Volume Mascara to the top of Gisele’s lashes and Feather Noir Ultra Skinny Lash Discovering Mascara on the bottom.

Brows

Keeping brows natural, Hung used small short strokes of the Brow Wow Defining Long Wear Eyebrow Pencil in colour Taupe and Ash Brown, all brushed into place using the Brow Tamer Grooming Gel.

Lips

To create a natural, enhanced lip colour for Giselle, he first outlined her lips with Poutliner Longwear Lip Pencil in colour Slow Burn. He then applied some New Nudes Sheer Gel Lip Lipstick in colour Eat Cake for a rosy, nude shade.

To Finish

To finish Gisele’s makeup, Hung used a spritz of Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist to give added hydration and help her makeup last all evening.
