I don’t know why but the other day I randomly started thinking about Katie Holmes and her ex, Jamie Foxx (do you ever do that?). It got me thinking about Khaite – the brand that I discovered thanks to her (isn’t it funny how the brain wires things together?). Katie has amazing style and as I sat and pondered, (ok procrastinated), I thought what a great blog post she would make. So I asked the lovely Charlotte to write a piece. Over to Charlotte!
Katie Holmes' Style
By Charlotte Hope-Shannon

We’ve all been partial to a celebrity style obsession over the years. However, one style icon who has remained high on our fashion wish lists is Katie Holmes. Known for her love of denim from her days in Dawson’s Creek and for that viral knitted bra moment in 2019, Katie has remained top of the luxury fashion world.
Known as being a private individual outside of her work, Katie knows how to grab our attention when it comes to fashion. Whether she’s running an errand, picking her daughter up from school or attending lavish events, her style never goes amiss.
Her popular resurgence into our digital age came in 2019, when she was pictured hailing a cab in New York. It wasn’t her sun-kissed glow or perfect fitted jeans that caught the internet’s attention. No, it was the knitted oatmeal coloured bra and matching cardigan, from New York-based brand Khaite.
Why does it work?
What made the look so effective...
Katie looked confident, yet cosy. Chic, but understated. The whole outfit worked in ways stylists can only dream of, with her cardigan worn off-shoulder to reveal the bra and her golden-tanned shoulder. Not to mention, her self-assured nature shone brightest of all. Genius! Unsurprisingly, the matching set from Khaite sold out within the hour and became one of the most-searched, most-replicated pieces of the year.
Fast forward to 2022 and the knitted set is one of the most sought-after transitional pieces for our wardrobe.

High Street Katie...
Known also as a fan of the Highstreet, Katie often steps out in sell-out mango suits or pieces from Zara’s famous shoe collection. What makes Holmes’ style work is the perfectly tailored style, colours and her own personal self-assurance. She wears the outfit, the outfit doesn’t wear her. Whether it be the famous all-in-one buttery leather look she wore to the opening of Barbara Sturms boutique, or the statement burnt orange blazer and cream trousers she wore on the streets Manhattan, Katie is not afraid to replace her girl-next-door style for a more experimental look. From daring silhouettes to mixed-fabric ensembles we can thank Katie for creating the perfect capsule wardrobe for us to replicate.
