Today I’ve a few reasons to celebrate. Not only is it the six month birthday of Sassyinthecity.com but it’s also the first day of 2016 bringing with it lots of new opportunities, aspirations and resolutions. It’s also day one of my 2016 ‘Dry Jan’. Last year by not drinking in Jan I lost a lot of weight and had more energy and better sleep. I even managed to raise around £300 for Cancer Research so I’ve big expectations this time around. Let’s just hope I get to repeat my first taste of alcohol on a surprise trip to Paris again.
Last year really was a momentous year. In addition to ‘Dry Jan’ I also found a better way of living with healthier food, more exercise and a focus on being less anxious. Aside from losing 10lb, I didn’t manage to get there with coping with anxiety so I’m looking forward to working on that in 2016.
In 2015 I also began studying Hebrew, got my job at GQ and travelled to new places (Turkey and Italy). My home was finally furnished with everything I love, we have a new garden and we’re even engaged now! There have been new additions to our family in the form of our niece little baby Ruby and baby bunny, my mum turned 50 and they’re now home alone for the first time as my brother has moved out. Other exciting things happened too like a new car and a wonderful engagement party at Dan’s parents beautiful house in north London.
On top of all the chaos, I launched Sassyinthecity.com; a platform where I can practice my writing, explore new interests and begin a hobby. I’m overwhelmed by the opportunities it’s presented so far and I’ve met some very inspiring people along the way. I’ve loved working with some cool brands and even guest editing for some of them. I want to thank the supporters both of the blog and on social media (I never would have thought I’d get 17,700 followers on Instagram) and the companies that I’ve worked with so far on the blog.

So 2016?
Yes, I do have resolutions and I fully intend on making 2016 the best year yet. I want to finally learn how to drive (and pass the test), lose weight and plan our wedding. I will visit Italy again and head to Israel to check out some wedding venues and try to commit to a decision on bridesmaids. For Sassyinthecity.com? I’ve some great theatre and hotel reviews lined up as well as cool new restaurants and salons. There’ll be more fun fashion and beauty reviews and more YouTube videos which will hopefully look more professional than the first video, haha!
