Style Inspired By Film

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the film Grease, I felt inspired to write a style post reflective of the fashion, the famous pink and a fun girls night in! So complete with some vintage faded pics, here’s a nod to one of the most famous films ever made…

A few weeks ago I was due to speak at Everyman Cinema in London. It was a style chat and introduction to the film screening. From fun retro hairdryers to a gorgeous ‘Beauty School Drop Out’ slogan tops, the film gave us 50’s style at its best. Rizzo, Sandy, Danny, any one of the Pink Ladies – we each have a favourite. I always loved the sexiness and sass that Rizzo owned but I also had a soft spot for the innocence of Sandy in her white cardigan and flouncy skirts. But it’s Sandy’s final outfit, the totally made over bad gal with her big curls, cold shoulder top, skin tight trousers and bright red heels that gets me every time. My favourite scene? Well, obviously the famous ‘girls night in’!

How To Slumber Party

  • Get your frilly night gowns and rollers ready, Remington have launched an exciting ‘Retro Hairdryer’! Old school luxury with new age technology, this hair dryer is fun yet powerful and is a gorgeous pink. Great on any dresser!
  • For sensitive skin or skin that’s prone to redness, Darphin’s Intral Cleansing Milk and Toner help to remove stubborn makeup, delicately cleanse the skin and leaves it toned, calmed and refreshed.
  • Wear a delicate scent like the Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose. It captures the ‘strength of a ballerina’ in a soft peony and rose. A beautiful new fragrance.

Inspired Style

These pointy pink satin ankle boots from Zara are the perfect pop of bright pink all black skinny jeans could do with. Or instead, pair a full skirt with these gorgeous dusty pink strap sandals from Pretty Little Thing. Bring the famous pink to your accessories with this mini chain bag from Zara.

For The Sandy Moment

One of my favourite skincare brands, Glamglow, have launched a fun new line celebrating My Little Pony with lots and lots of glitter! These glitter Gravitymud face masks (review coming soon) are great for firming the skin and leaving it looking refreshed and radiant, like you’ve just had a ten hour sleep and drank 2 litres of water! Choose from pink, purple or black, each inspired by the iconic ponies. It delivers mega-targeted ingredients like a TEAOXI® Complex of Licorice and Marshmallow Leaf that help make skin’s contours feel firmer and look more defined..
