HOW TO DO AN OVERNIGHT STAY ON LONDON’S HERTFORD STREET

Mayfair has always been the most unique and affluent part of London. Not only does it have the largest concentration of luxury five start hotels in London, it’s also peppered with private members clubs and michelin star restaurants. Add in the most incredible fashion designers and opulent beauty stores and you have yourself a fashionista’s heaven on earth.

Just a stones throw from my day office Vogue House in Hanover Square is London’s Hertford Street. A seven bed townhouse is currently on the market here for £18 million and just a one-bed flat can set you back in excess of a million. It’s seriously opulent. When I decided to stay overnight after work one evening, the location was perfect to roll out of and back to GQ the next day. The area is great for a romantic, chilled out evening evening stay and completely cuts out our commute back to North London.

Of course you could stay in a hotel. But those wanting a more personal experience will want their own facilities, no disturbance and something that’s especially sought after in this area. Lots of space.

Within easy reach of Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Oxford Street, you can find fully serviced apartments at number 9 Hertford Street. With special touches like a fully stocked tea station, a hamper and of course Champagne on ice, it was a memorable stay that we’ll be repeating.

Dan arrived a little later than me so we’d agreed to pre order a takeaway that’s really reflective of Mayfair. Burgers and chips from Patty and Buns – hah! Flustered having just left his office, when he arrived I showed him around the apartment (one bed club) and could see how impressed he was. Our area included a kitchen, dining area, bathroom, bedroom, small balcony and the dreamiest lounge. There were even some cute little robes and slippers left out for us.

We chose a film, kicked off our shoes and popped open the Champagne. I (unwisely) let Daniel choose the film for us and we got cosy. With the sash windows open a few inches, we lapped up the Mayfair living experience.

Whether on business or holiday, it’s obvious that this exquisite Mayfair destination is the number one choice for so many people. 9 Hertford Street are super accommodating in terms of going above and beyond expectations. Whether the customer is recovering from surgery on Harley Street (they can even provide care), or just after a romantic escape or a shopping trip with the girls, the list of requests has already been predicted and thought of.
