Suits and co-ords have long been a favourite of mine but lets face it they can be tricky to pull off. I don’t mean because of the colour and the fact they’re matchy-matchy (double plaid takes a bit of getting used to). What I mean is, if like me you have larger hips and/or chest then the cut and style of the suit needs a little more consideration. Get it right and it can look amazing!
This Topshop suit is perfect for ladies like me who aren’t straight up and down. It has one button strategically placed at the centre of the waist to accentuate your smaller parts and a longer sleeve which gives length to the arms. I have quite long arms anyway but the cuff definitely felt lower than usual which I love.
For the trousers, think about the cut. Not only are these ones high waisted (hurrah) but they’re peg style which are super flattering on the leg. Especially if you don’t want to wear high heels! I’m wearing a size 12 in each.
Pair with a cami or a vest like I did and throw on your favourite necklaces and bag. I switch mine up for the evening with statement earrings, a high pony tail and high heeled sandals. Suits are always a fantastic investment because they can be worn as separates and are great transition pieces from Spring to Summer.
