Now that I’m in my mid thirties and a mother of two, my sense of style has evolved to suit different needs. These days it’s less about squeezing into something uncomfortable (especially an ill fitting cropped top) just because it ‘looks nice’… I much prefer things that are practical and casual. But that isn’t to say one should compromise on style.
This season, cropped tops are set to be huge. Fear not though, because whether you’re ready to channel your 90’s babe or you’re wearing head to toe black for your errands, you don’t necessarily have to look like you’re rushing to the gym. You can look chic. Understanding and implementing a few tricks can keep your outfit looking sophisticated and you feeling your best. So, feeling inspired by this new Christopher Kane “More Joy” top, I’ve put together some of my favourite looks from my wardrobe.
You’ll notice my method is simple. Keep the trousers high waisted and shapely rather than skinny or tight. I’m partial to a wide leg to help elongate my legs and I find them more flattering and modern than a straight leg. Pair with some cool accessories and choose footwear that will add a bit of height and you’re good to go.
