How I Style The Chunky Chelsea Boot

November 16, 2020

One Of This Season’s

Most Sought After Styles

With the rain and wind taking all the limelight at the moment, I can confirm that it’s well and truly boot season. This year particularly, fashion is being really kind to us. It has blessed us with not one ‘IT’ style but a wealth of styles that are each as equally on trend as the next.

Whether you’re a tie up boot girl or prefer the ease of a Chelsea boot (I’m the latter), right now there is just so much to choose from. Bottega Veneta and Acne were early to set the trend this year for chunky tread boots. It’s since paved the way for the high street to come up with their own versions as a less expensive alternative. As with lots of looks this season, anything goes when it comes to styling.

Whilst I haven’t braved a dress/trench combo with chunky treads yet, I’m enjoying androgynous pants. Like these beautiful tapered leg trousers from Saint + Sofia for example. I don’t give too much consideration to up top – just a simple vest and teddy trucker jacket. What I’ve been most impressed with this year is the quality of the boots on the High Street. You don’t need to be overly fussy with your outfit because they’re the focus.

I’m usually a heeled, formal type of boot girl but I have to admit I’m enjoying the comfort of a chunky tread boots. Especially now there aren’t as many opportunities to get dressed up. I find them more flattering when they come up a little high over the ankle. The elastic sides of a Chelsea Boot also gives the illusion of an elongated leg.
