Meeting Richard Geoffroy & Enjoying An Exquisite Champagne Brunch at Claridges
Global Champagne Day
Last Friday was Global Champagne Day. Furthermore, what better way to celebrate than a proper city-girl Champagne brunch in the specially created Dom Pérignon suite at the exquisite Claridge’s in Mayfair. In addition, there was a cool experiential event to compliment the morning.

Transformation
Dom Pérignon P2 1998 Vintage. First of all, before being treated to a delightfully intimate brunch hosted by Chef de Cave, Richard Geoffroy, I was fortunate to experience the exclusive ‘Transformation‘. So Transformation is an experiential pop-up on South Molton Street allowing us to be transported back to the inception of Dom Pérignon.
Most noteworthy, we watched a wonderful video where we were educated on the fundamentals considered when creating Champagne. Together we were taken on a journey of the Plénitudes via taste, sight and sound. The unique 15 minute experience encapsulated the unique history and also the alchemy behind the creation of Dom Pérignon. With impressive sound and lighting, its sensory journey uncovered the magic of Dom Pérignon. It all started with a tasting of Dom Pérignon vintage 2006.
The Brunch
The exclusive event and intimate brunch celebrated Dom Pérignon’s very special P2 1998 vintage. As a result, to say it’s superb would be an understatement. We were fortunate to taste the Dom Pérignon Blanc 2006, Dom Pérignon Rosé 2004 and Dom Pérignon P2 1998, as well as a delicious Claridge’s breakfast of salmon, eggs and avocado.
The exciting brunch also meant that we could meet Richard. He’s the man who decides what makes a Dom Pérignon vintage. Dom Pérignon Transformation and cellar master, Richard Geoffory is an interesting man whose passion for Champagne exudes from him in every sentence.
Dom Pérignon also partnered with Claridge’s to offer guests the ultimate Dom Pérignon gastronomy experience. The partnership saw a collaboration with Richard Geoffroy, and Simon Rogan, Chef Patron of Fera at Claridge’s. Together they have produced an exclusive Dom Pérignon P2 menus and tastings, hosted in a lavish Dom Pérignon Suite.
Finally, Richard Says:
“We have worked closely with Simon Rogan, Chef Patron of Fera at Claridge’s. He has created an exquisite limited edition lunch and dinner menu to celebrate Dom Pérignon P2. Each course has been carefully designed to complement the characteristics of the Dom Pérignon vintages. I will lead diners through the wine’s singularity and the effects on the palate and the senses. We are really excited to be collaborating with Simon and Claridge’s for a second time to co-curate these one of a kind intimate experiences. We look forward to welcoming guests.”
In conclusion, a huge thank you to Dom Pérignon. As a result, I’ve definitely found my wedding Champagne! Customers can buy Plénitude P2 Deuxième 1998 for £260 a bottle here.
Have you tried Dom Pérignon? Did you do anything exciting to celebrate Global Champagne Day? Xx
