Luxe For Less: 10 Best Summer Basics

Staples like a white shirt and good flat shoes are things you can spend heavy on but even if budget is tight, there are still lots of affordable pieces that work well as a starting ground. With the Summer season fast approaching (despite what the stormy weather might lead us to believe), here are my top 10 super stylish basics that every wardrobe needs.

ONE, TWO, THREE

Polka Dot Top – River Island

Alexa Cropped Jeans – River Island

Black Heels – Pretty Little Thing

FOUR

For a super sunny day wear with slides and some cat eye sunnies. In the evening, add a different waist belt and some wooden stack heels. For the bank holiday beer garden go for double denim by throwing a denim jacket over the shoulders, a fringe bag and tan loafers.

FIVE

Pale pink is a great neutral shade that works with almost all outfits regardless of skin colour. Perfect with denim, white dresses, wide leg trousers and even shorts.

SIX

Calvin Klein has done it again. A superb basic body with the iconic logo stamped across a plain white elastic strap. Great for fitting any size bust and made from their usual slimming jersey fabric.

SEVEN

A New Look special, this white skirt has already been picked up lots of times by some readers since it was featured on my homepage. A nod to the button down trend and easy to go from office to bar. Just be careful of the red wine.

EIGHT

There’s something so luxe about a leather backpack, especially one like this beautiful Lydia bag from Accessorize. Great for refreshing your work look or taking for a weekend trip to the museum.

NINE

There’s a reason why M&S has become one of my favourite stores again and it’s not just because of this stripe basic essential. I’ve been wearing mine with strap sandals and a clutch for dinner or slides and a straw circle bag for the day.

TEN

Cat eye sunglasses are the new season statement accessory and with frames ranging all over the place when it comes to price, an inexpensive pair like these tortoise shell beauties are well worth the online buy.
