Smart / Casual Power Dressing

June 29, 2018

Collaboration

with River Island

I’m used to power dressing Mon-Fri but come the weekend, if I have a meeting then I don’t like to be 9-5 formal. But at the same time, it’s still a Saturday. So what to do?

For me it starts with a good blazer. It’s a wardrobe staple that’s so versatile it can be worn with a skirt, jeans, trousers, even shorts in this warm weather.

I love a blazer that has a superior luxe feel (without the hefty price tag) and this River Island double breasted tux jacket  ticks all the boxes. It’s big shoulder pads and long length give it a flattering shape and the gold tone button up front gives it a total Balmain vibe.

Keeping Cool

To tailor for Summer, I keep my jeans cropped to show off a bare ankle. I prefer a lightweight vest as opposed to a spaghetti strap cami to make the outfit more work appropriate too. I found these gorgeous Chanel inspired two tone shoes from River Island that really bring the outfit altogether. Heels work well but I find a flat much more casual for the weekend.

Have you had any good finds in River Island recently?
