Dressing smartly for my day job Monday to Friday means that by the time the weekend comes, I’m so ready for snuggly jumpers and ripped jeans. This weekend however Daniel managed to prise me out of my Levi’s and Nike’s for a weekend of dining and drinking in the best city in the world. London.
This Saturday armed with a new BMW 1 series convertible (Dan’s not mine, I can’t drive) we headed to our cute local, The Gate. It’s a chilled vibe with families and friends, a common place for birthday get to togethers or chilled date night with your love. It’s even the place where I met one of Dan’s best friends from America and his Dad and the first stop that my friend Nicole and I headed once she’d told me she was pregnant.
As we went early evening, this blue and black diamond jacquard bardot dress from Closet London was neither too dressy nor too casual. The material is thick and deceptively warm although I did wear a coat too, hello being Welsh only makes you a teeny bit more immune to this Winter weather. The elasticated neck line means you can pull it as low down over the shoulder as you like or wear as a slashed neck. Ankle boots look cool with this but I decided on my trusty black patent Jimmy Choo pumps.
Priced at just £55, this off the shoulder bardot dress is also perfect for the office and a great investment to take you right through until Spring. In Summer it’ll look great with sandals and at Christmas it’d look divine with a fur Charlotte Simone scarf and a black clutch.
