If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll have seen me putting together bits of furniture, finding decorations and pulling everything together to create a dream blogger’s office. Now I have to admit, working inside London’s Vogue House gave me SO much inspiration and back then I could only dream of one day creating my very own fashion office.
So with my years of fashion mag experience coupled with my time spent in London and visiting brands’ offices, here’s my first attempt at designing space. For me this is just the beginning of my blogging dream. Eventually I want more staff, bigger spaces, and multiple platforms of ‘in the city’s’. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I wanted the office to be kept bright and modern with hints of pink here and there. I tried to put in lots of green plants to keep me in a creative mindset too. All of the artwork frames (mine are all from Desenio) had to be black because I love the stand out contrast against the blank walls. They have some really cool prints too, I spent ages choosing the Desenio pictures!
25% off at Desenio using code ‘sassyinthecity’ valid Oct 4-6th 2018 (excluding frames/ handpicked)
The light wooden floor lends itself nicely to these beautiful white faux leather pair of chairs from Cult Furniture. I love the legs on these! They’re by far the most comfortable chairs to use next to my desk given the arm support and padded seat (even if they are dining chairs). This is the Cohen Dining Chair in white (they come in a few colours) with Bentwood leg frame.
Lighting & Equipment
The brilliant Ikea desk has removable legs so you can flip the entire thing up. Then it allows us to utilise a larger space. I love that the desk is right under the window where plenty of natural light can come pouring in. When we need a helping hand our ring light comes in handy and we can move this around the office. Nothing is fixed in place here, even the corner table and bookcase gets moved around (all Ikea).
Fashion & Beauty
The fashion rail (Amazon) is organised so that new pieces come in on the right hand side and gradually make their way onto the blog/social media and then out to make room for new. I try to keep on top of my beauty mail because it can get a little out of hand. We had a clear out before this post so here's what we got in today. Beauty bits are only in the office for maximum 5 days otherwise it can get a little cluttered.
I keep my safety pins, clips and any other accessories stored away in boxes inside the bookcase. The Champagne flutes are for when we celebrate a collaboration and I use a handy napkin holder to keep my thank you cards. Ella Iconic have some incredible planners and notebooks which I love for my desk and the blush vases from Cox & Cox just give the room that final touch. Of course no fashion office is complete without a designer scent and I adore Lavender & Lillie diffusers and Urban Apothecary candles.
I hope this has given you guys some office inspiration!
