Why Spots Are Easier To Wear
Than You Think
It’s not uncommon for people to shy away from spots because without well thought out styling, it can feel a bit overbearing.
I’ve surprised myself this year with the amount of spots I own. This puffy dress from Miss Selfridge concealed my early pregnancy bump and I adore my gorgeous H&M spotty maxi dress that was seen literally all over Instagram. There was also this beautiful green and black polka dot dress and one of my favourite yellow/black spot Ganni dresses. Not forgetting of course, this dress of dreams with huge, puffy sleeves.
Now a lot of those looks were in the warmer months and granted, it’s often easier to style outfits in the Summer. However, I don’t think spots should be reserved only for sunny days.
With a little bit of inspiration, it’s so easy to work polka dots into your wardrobe. I usually treat polka dot as the base layer and work from it, keeping the rest of my outfit plain coloured but with a considered focus on texture and accessories. I’ve compiled 5 of my favourite new season looks, some a mix of high street and high end, some purely high street. My favourite has to be the Winter Warmers look! What is yours?
The dress that I’m wearing in the photograph is last season Zara and no longer available.
